Computer Use Policy for Media Center Computers


Computers are for educational purposes. All OCPS computer use policies and rules apply to using the Media Center computers.

Students must have a valid Freedom HS ID card to use Media Center computers.

Students will sign-up for a computer at the desk by providing their ID card in exchange for a computer pass that assigns them to a specific machine.

Students may use computers to:
  • research information for school projects
  • write papers
  • develop multimedia presentations
  • Surf the internet for information related to academic work, career development or specific personal enrichment activities falling within OCPS guidelines.
Examples of inappropriate computer use includes:
  • playing games
  • watching music videos
  • e-mailing friends or visiting unapproved chat-rooms
  • making purchases
  • providing personal information
Computer Printouts cost .10/page for black & white and .25/page for color. Students pay for printouts at the coin copy station located near the atlas stand and pick up copies at the circulation desk. NOTE: Students are responsible for what they print. FHS does not own the coin copy machine. Refunds will not be given.
