Parents, Teachers & Students Can Make A Difference!

The Freedom High School PTSA is proud to be an integral part of the success of Freedom High School. We invite you to become a member whether you are a student, parent or teacher - together we can and do make a difference.

It is very important for parents to continue to involve themselves in their children's education, especially when they are in high school. According to many studies, the number one factor in determining how well your child succeeds in high school is parental involvement and support. The Parent Teacher Student Association is one of the best ways to coordinate that involvement. The mission of the Freedom High School PTSA is to support and speak in the community on behalf of the youth at Freedom High School. The PTSA has been deemed as the "Parent Group of Choice" by Orange County Schools.

PTSA has sponsored and supported many events since Freedom's inception. Some of those events included:

  • "Life After Freedom" workshops, College Information sessions and Town Hall meetings
  • Participation in New Student Orientation, Parent Night, Textbook Checkout Days and Share the Vision
  • Concession sales at the Homecoming Dance, held at the school every year
  • Providing refreshments for Renaissance Field Days
  • Providing various treats for our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week in May
  • Providing volunteers for special events i.e. Homecoming, Junior/Senior Prom and the Kids Vote Project
  • Providing assistance during the school day, i.e. filing in the Deans and Attendance offices

In addition, our goal is to provide financial support to the school. Our fundraising committee has always worked very hard to develop some new and innovative ideas. Keep in mind that the more funds we raise, the more activities and programs we can support for the school, teachers and students. The PTSA has sold Entertainment and Enjoy the City books with the profits being returned directly back to the PTSA to support the students in various ways. Our primary source of revenue for Programs and Recognition is the original Patriot T-shirt. T-shirts are available for $10 and can be obtained at home football games or by emailing Linda Jaramillo, our Fundraising chairperson.

JOIN! Please join the PTSA this year for the benefit of improving programs at the school. The five-dollar fee isn't much money - but it means a LOT to the PTSA! We invite all parents, teachers and students to join and help us to help the school. Membership forms are available at the Front Office or by contacting any of our Board Members. Simply, email the Membership form to our membership chairsperson.

Show Your Support! - Purchase and wear Patriot t-shirts - show the Red, White & Blue at Freedom sporting events and support the studens at the same time.

Volunteer! - There are so many areas in the school that could benefit from the help of parents. Help is needed when special programs are planned, as well as on a daily basis throughout the school. There is no better way to get to know the school and the staff than by volunteering your time. You can give an hour a day, or an hour a week or come out and support special events that are held on the weekend. Any time that you can spend at the school by assisting in some capacity can make a difference. Some examples of areas where help is always needed are: filing in the Attendance and Dean's offices, or helping with managing the books in the Media Center. Please join the Volunteer committee so that you can be contacted when events require parental assistance. Simply, email the Volunteer form to our membership chairsperson.

We can only be successful with your support and participation. We welcome and request your involvement. What's in it for you? Awareness of what's happening at the school and knowing that
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THE STUDENTS AT FREEDOM!
