Academy of Excellence
Our excellent faculty provides a supportive net for students as well as a rigorous curriculum that is second to none. Our extra-curricular activities, excellent performing arts programs, and our Academies have provided our students with a well rounded high school experience. We now look to expand on these opportunities as we will be adding two new Academies to our curriculum, the Academy of Teacher Education and the Monticello Scholar Academy of Excellence.
Just as Thomas Jefferson was one of our nation's brightest and best founding fathers, we are sure that our "Monticello" scholar program will house the best and brightest of Freedom High School.
We created this program to offer a rigorous course of study, to prepare students for success at institutes of higher learning, and to supply support from a cadre of peers, teachers, and administrators. Yet, we have not forgotten to provide students with the flexibility to select electives that they will find interesting and still have the time toenjoy experiences that all high school teenagers should have. I know that this program will meet the expectations and needs of both students and parents.
The Monticello Scholar Academy of Excellence offers a course of study designed for students who compete academically at the national level. This rigorous and relevant curriculum will build and develop personal relationships. The Monticello Scholar Academy of Excellence focuses on developing the whole child through a tradition of leadership, service, and, of course, Honor, Excellence, and Tradition.

Why Monticello?
In April 1962, while addressing a White House dinner honoring Nobel Peace prize winners, President John F. Kennedy stated, "I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House, with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
As Thomas Jefferson's intelligence, excellence to detail and patriotism provided the motivation for President Kennedy's statement it also serves as the inspiration behind the Monticello Scholar Academy of Excellence.
