Dance Kinesiology
The purpose of this course is to study the physical systems that contribute to the science of movement with reference to dance. Students should be able to research dance technical development using knowledge of exercise physiology, kinesiology movement taxonomy, anatomy, and principles of athletic training. Students will be involved in the study and application of the biological and physical principles of human movement to identify situations requiring correctives for the dancer. |

Colorguard
A performance oriented class. Content includes terminology related to music and basic performance techniques in a movement sequence set to music, application of performance techniques to a variety of styles of music and movement, safety practices related to eurhythmic activities, knowledge of basic rhythms, meter, tempo and form, demonstration of elements of performance appearance and attendance. As a performance oriented course, attendance is required for rehearsals and performances beyond regular school hours. |
