2008 Summer School Information
Current FHS Students
Dear Parents and Students:
It is that time of the year and we are beginning the summer school enrollment process for our current FHS students. The goal of summer school is to provide credit recovery for students who have not been successful in a core academic class (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies). Therefore students may only take a core academic course in summer school if they have failed or are currently failing the course (D or F). They can not take a core academic class for the first time during summer school. Students can take electives for the first time in summer school if there is room available.
The students are currently completing their summer school course requests. The course requests will be used to determine what classes are offered during summer school. An official list of summer school course offerings will be available tentatively at the end of April. The students who have already completed a summer school course request will not have to re-register for the class. You and the student will have to sign and return a “Summer School Code of Conduct Form". Once students are officially in a class they will receive a confirmation letter during the last two weeks of school.
Summer School Hours 7:35 AM -2:35 PM (Monday-Friday)
Session I June 12th- June 25th
Session II June 26th- July 10th
Both Sessions June 12th- July 10th
If you have any questions, just ask.

Incoming 9th Grade Students
Dear Future
Parents and Students:
Welcome to Freedom High School where we focus on Honor, Excellence, and Tradition. Summer school is an excellent opportunity for your child to successfully transition to the high school environment. We are currently in the process of accepting summer school course requests for our current Freedom High School students. We will begin the registration process for incoming 9th grade students at the end of April or beginning of May. Incoming 9th grade students will be allowed to take Health Opportunities through Physical Education (HOPE). HOPE is for the entire summer school session. Please check our website for updates. We look forward to having your child here at Freedom High School.
There may be an opportunity for students and parents to register for summer school on April 24th during the "8th Grade Parent Night". In addition we are working on the summer school registration form being placed on our website. The forms will be available sometime during the week of April 28th. In addition forms will be sent to each middle school. When you complete a summer school registration form, please submit to your middle school guidance counselor and they will forward the forms to Freedom High School.
Once your child is registered for summer school, the middle school guidance counselors will receive confirmation letters to send home with the students. This process will occur during the last two weeks of school.
